Our Wines

Montecarlo Bianco D.O.C.

Varieties: Trebbiano, Vermentino, Sauvignon, Semillon, Rousanne, Pinot Bianco.

At sight the color is pale straw yellow. On the nose there are citrus notes integrated with pleasant notes of medicinal species, sage, rosemary and floral acacia. In the mouth it is fresh, tasty and with good persistence.

Pairing: Thanks to its freshness accompanied by a good structure. The Montecarlo Bianco from the Il Poggio farm is a wine that goes well with fish-based dishes, excellent as an aperitif

It is appreciated at a temperature of 10 – 12 °C.

Otium Bianco D.O.C.

Varieties: Trebbiano, Vermentino, Sauvignon, Rousanne, Pinot Bianco.

The Otium wine develops in the glass with a typically straw-yellow color. The perfumes that sculpt the olfactory profile of this label move on notes of yellow pulp fruit, embellished with touches of aromatic herbs and nuances of citrus fruits. When tasted it is of medium structure, balanced, with a sip characterized by a fresh and mineral taste.

Pairing: Tuscan soups, tasty first courses, fish dishes.

It is appreciated at a temperature of 10 – 12 °C.

Incantate Bianco I.G.T. Toscana

Variety: Chardonnay 100%

In the glass it announces itself with a pleasant golden yellow. The nose perceives hints of ripe citrus fruits and exotic fruit with a marked minerality. The mouth is enveloped by its freshness, a well-structured wine with the right acidity, it has a pleasant finish with an aftertaste that cleans the mouth.

Pairing: It can be uncorked during an aperitif and starters, it accompanies cold cuts and fish throughout the meal, it goes well with soft, unripened cheeses.

It is appreciated at a temperature of 12-14 °C .

Montecarlo Rosso D.O.C.

Variety: Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Saauvignon, Malvasia Nera.

The color is brilliant ruby red. The nose is intense and fragrant with pleasant fruity notes of cherry and black cherry integrated with floral notes of violet. A highly drinkable wine with great balance between the various components.

Pairing: Thanks to its freshness and pleasantness, the Montecarlo Rosso from Fattoria Il Poggio is a wine for all meals that goes well with any food from our Lucca cuisine.

 

It is appreciated at a temperature of 18°C.

Otium Rosso D.O.C.

Variety: Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet.

The color is brilliant ruby red. The nose is intense and fragrant with pleasant fruity notes of cherry and black cherry integrated with floral notes of violet. A highly drinkable wine with great balance between the various components.

Pairing: OTIUM goes best with appetizers based on cured meats and grilled meats, baked or grilled red meats, medium-aged cheeses.

It is appreciated at a temperature of 16-18 °C .

Incantate Rosso I.G.T. Toscana

Variety: Syrah, Merlot

It presents itself to the eye with a deep and intense ruby color. The aromas that develop on the nose are rich and decisive, and move on fruity and spicy notes, which slowly give way to nuances of Mediterranean herbs. When tasted, it is full-bodied and full-bodied, with a drink in which the tannic texture is finely integrated; closes with a finish characterized by a light chocolate aftertaste.

Pairing: Roasted-grilled meat, stewed red meat, game.

 

It is appreciated at a temperature of 18-20 °C

La Fattoria il Poggio...

...A tale of dedication and dreams fermented in every sip since 1963.

Fattoria il Poggio has been managed by the Rossi family since 1963 . It was Gualtiero with his wife Iole, who were farmers at the time, who took over the former estate of the Counts of Gherardesca from the Fratini family, which at the time had 26 hectares of land dedicated to cattle breeding.

With great perseverance and a spirit of sacrifice they managed to bring olive groves and vineyards back to life, slowly building a solid agricultural company.

It was in 1969 that Gualtiero gave life to the Montecarlo DOC wine.

After his death, since the 1980s the wine business has been carried on by his wife Iole with their son Giancarlo. It was he who began to make Fattoria Il Poggio international in the 1990s.

Until 2007 Iole and Giancarlo worked together completely renovating the spaces of the farmhouse, which for years has offered not only wines but also typical dishes of Lucca and Tuscan cuisine.

Today, Fattoria il Poggio is owned by Giancarlo who, with dedication and spirit, continues both the production of wine and oil and the catering business with local and foreign customers.

Il nostro Olio Extra Vergine di Oliva, inizialmente decantato e poi naturalmente filtrato, è ottenuto da una selezione accurata di olive coltivate in Azienda, con prevalenza delle varietà Frantoiano e Leccino.

Sapore caratteristico e piacevole, tipico di un olio italiano di qualità.
